Many people happily make this statement advocating for Truth. Yet Truth alone will NOT set you free.

The statement was made by Jesus and can be found in the Bible in John 8:31-32.

Jesus said “If you continue in My word, then you are truly disciples of Mine; and you will know the truth, and the truth will make you free.” (John 8:31-32 NASB)

Read the words carefully. What is it that will set you free? Note the equation for freedom. “If” you continue in Jesus’s Words (i.e., “if you obey Jesus’ Words”), “then” you will know the Truth…and it will set you free.

Want to be free? Inspect your life and ask the question “Am I obeying Jesus’ Words?” If so, you know what I’m talking about. If not, you’ll never understand until you experience the freedom that comes only from fully surrendering to Jesus and His Word.
