Over 20 years ago, I was having a quiet time, spending some time with God. I was reading and reflecting in the book of John…Chapter 10. I got to verse 10 and was stopped in my tracks (John 10:10). In that verse, Jesus claims to give life, but not only life…He claims to give abundant life.
Wait a minute, I thought. Does this mean that to God (Jesus), there is a difference between “Life” and “Abundant Life”? From that moment on, two questions about this verse put me on a journey of discovery for the rest of my life. An awesome journey. One that has allowed me to see God do amazing things in my life.
I wonder how you would answer these two questions…and what difference it would make in your life if you dared to answer them honestly. The questions are:
- In God’s thinking, what is the difference between “Life” and “Abundant Life”?
